Second Opinion Service
The Importance of A Second Opinion

Our son Parks was born with birth defect - a severe club foot.  His right foot was severely twisted out of position; and we were told that without treatment (months of casting and surgery) he would never walk normally.   We followed the doctor's advice; and our little boy endured 9 months of casting and surgery.  I will never forget our follow up appointment with our highly respected orthopedic surgeon. We were not experts by any means, but something about his foot just didn't seem right.  The surgeon's laissez faire attitude made me raise an eyebrow.  These were his exact words “Parks will never be an outstanding athlete; but who of us is?”

My wife, Laura, looked at me then at the surgeon and insisted “We would like a second opinion”. We were referred to a surgeon 5 hours away in Atlanta.  Dr. Morrissy examined Parks' foot and knew exactly what needed to be done. After two additional surgeries, Parks' foot looked almost normal, and he walked and ran as well as any child his age. Remember the doctor who said  “Parks will never be an outstanding athlete; but who of us is?”   Well.... Parks is now a scholarship tennis player at a Division 1 college!

What if Laura had not insisted on a second opinion and we had settled on "good enough"?  Parks may have never reached his goal of becoming a D1 college athlete.  Today he is self-confident and in control of his future.

This is why I am so passionate about our Second Opinion Service. As a result of this experience with our son; I realized most people take the first advice that is offered.

One of the services we put together for friends and associates of our most valued customers is our Second Opinion Service. This service is offered free of charge. We will meet with the business owner and determine where they are now and where they want to go and will fill any gaps. If we mutually agree that we can add tremendous value to the business owner then we will proceed with our 5 step consultative process.

The second opinion process begins with scheduling a complimentary Discovery Meeting with a Thompson Wealth Advisor.

We dive in and look at what your exact goals are so we can determine the best course of action for your individual needs. Your wealth advisor will assist you in clarifying what is important to you, your business and your family.

The next step is to schedule an Investment Plan Meeting where we review the customized plan we have created for you, answer any specific questions, and determine whether the plan is aligned with your objectives.

If we find that Thompson Wealth Advisors can be beneficial to you and your financial goals, we move forward in the wealth management and advanced planning process. If we are not a good fit for you, we will gladly point you in the right direction.

Where we have found that we can add the most value is with business owners that have revenues of 2 – 10 million and would like to exit their business in the next five years.  Just like Parks, if you want to be confident and feel in control of your financial future then let's get together for our Second Opinion Service.
